We're Still in Our Prime, Covering Amazon's Sale Live
The third day of Amazon Prime Day is for the real heads, and so is our live blog. We'll bring you deals, trends, and commentary until Amazon's annual summer sale finally hangs up its cleats.
Yes, it is still Prime Day. Believe it or not, Amazon's annual summer sale, which began on Tuesday morning, is not even close to over. Tomorrow, the final day, will see a flurry of interest, as people make FOMO purchases or empty their cart after getting a Friday paycheck. Today is for the real heads.
Day three of Amazon Prime Day is a day for people who love ball too much to step away from the game until they can't continue. This is the day Julio Franco or Tom Brady would shop for a discounted air fryer if they were shopping for discounted air fryers. It's for them that we live blog the day. If Bron still doin' it, so will we.
We'll update our overview of the absolute best Amazon Prime Day deals three times today, adding and culling deals to keep our list around 100, and you should go there if you're shopping for something specific. Here, on the other hand, you can expect us to continue to discuss Julio Franco, update you on our purchases of pretty pink rice cookers, and try to convince you to not to buy a Blink doorbell camera despite how cheap they are right now.

Amazon Really Wants You to Buy Its Ring Doorbells. Get This Instead
On the hunt for good and bad deals, I noticed Amazon's Prime Day deals pages are full of its own Ring video doorbells. And why wouldn't it try to push its own products? But we at WIRED stopped recommending Ring doorbells years ago due to its cooperation with law enforcement. Instead of getting one of those algorithmically-pushed and arguably invasive models, we recommend this option from Google. You're still assuming some risk by using a video doorbell at all, and both makers will cooperate with police requests for footage in “life threatening emergencies” but our top-recommended model is attractive and works well with or without the optional subscription. And it doesn't have an app dedicated to encroaching on your privacy.
Save $60 on This LED Face Mask
IRestore's Illumina Face Mask is a solid LED mask. Former reviewer Julia Forbes noticed visible improvements in her skin after just a week of consistent use, which is pretty impressive to say the least. Her pores were smaller, her skin was glowier, and it kept her eczema from making an appearance. Our main gripe has always been the cost; we've tested similar masks at lower price points, but this $60 discount definitely makes it more appealing.

My Favorite Pan In The World Is Cheaper Than Ever
My Our Place Always Pan is on my list of items I'd bring with me to a deserted island. It really is that serious. I use it nearly every single time I cook because it's so versatile. The shape and nonstick surface work for eggs, pan sauces, searing meat, roasting in the oven, and making homemade caramel. And that's before you add on any of the optional accessories! I have put it through its paces since 2023 and rave about it to anyone who will listen. It's down to the best price I've seen for Prime Day, and if you're still cooking on warped stainless steel that you got second- or third-hand, it's the best upgrade I could recommend.
This Art TV Displays Priceless Photos at A Discount
My colleague Martin Cizmar raves about this art TV from Hisense, which works perfectly fine as a television when needed and displays art or photos when turned off. The picture quality is fine for everyone that isn't a TV or movie critic, and the brushed nickel remote and Google OS are nice touches. If you consider TVs to be an eyesore, this one is up your alley since it will elevate the look of a room rather than detract from it. You can choose from over 1,000 pieces of art to display—like your very own museum—or upload your own if you prefer. Either way, it's cheaper than the previous-best deal we've tracked. The larger model is out of stock but may come back if you keep your eyes peeled.
My Glorified Paper Towels Are on Sale
Everyone has that one purchase they're a little embarrassed to admit they love. For me, it's these disposable face towelettes. Yes, they're essentially glorified paper towels. Yes, I understand how absurd that sounds. And yes, they're compostable, before anyone comes for me.
Unfortunately, they genuinely make a difference for my skin. The towel hanging in your bathroom can collect bacteria, fungus, and other grime between washes, all of which can end up back on your freshly cleaned face. You can dedicate a separate towel for your face—which I did for a while—but even traces of laundry detergent or fabric softener can be enough to irritate sensitive skin. Mine is so sensitive that if I look at it the wrong way, it flares up.
These disposable face towelettes are soft, absorbent, and clean. To justify the cost, after drying my face, I'll use it to wipe down the sink and countertop before tossing it.
Are they expensive for glorified paper towels? Absolutely. But they're worth it (sue me). Right now, they're $4 off, and writing this reminded me that I'm due for a restock myself.
Back In My Day You Couldn't Get A Coffee Maker for $50
Much like TVs, I sometimes can't believe how cheap coffee makers have gotten over the years. Even though the Keurig K-Mini has basically zero bells or whistles, I still have a soft spot for it. You'll need to add water each time, and it can be slow, and there are certainly no options for brewing strength or cold foam. But it takes up such little space you could stash it on your desk to make emergency caffeine during the wee hours of the night and/or morning. (Ask me how I know.)
This Tiny Fan Has A Tiny Price Tag
It's unseasonably cool in Milwaukee right now, but I know corn sweat season is looming. For those unfamiliar, that's the time of late summer when climate change and Midwestern crops form the perfect heat bubble that refuses to disperse for days on end, making everything wet and sticky and generally miserable. So I'm buying this, our favorite multiuse handheld fan. It's cute, it's quiet, and it's safe to use. It also has a little flashlight and technically could be a portable power bank, although you shouldn't rely on it to charge your phone since the capacity is so small.
This Portable Power Bank is a Prime Deal
The very best MagSafe power bank plays well with Android phones, too, thanks to its Qi2 capabilities. It's not too bulky and doesn't get too hot, but it can charge most phones more than once. It even has a built-in display and kickstand. While it won't top off your phone as quickly as a wired charger would, it's still nice to have around, especially since it's small enough that you could stash it in your pocket or purse.
Your Creatine Supplement Is Probably on Sale
People are loyal to their supplement stacks, and while taking creatine (or anything!) should be between you and your doctor, the fact remains that a lot of folks consume it every day. Myself included! Top picks from tons of brands are on sale for Prime Day, including Thorne, Peach Perfect, Optimum Nutrition, Bloom, and more. It's worth heading over to see if you can save on your inevitable restock.
Add Anything to “Find My” With This Deal on AirTags
I just got AirTags for the first time for an upcoming buying guide, and they're so easy to use. They can add anything to the Apple “Find My” app, whether it's your suitcase or your keys. It even has a speaker built in, and if you ever lose your item, you can share its location securely with your contacts or different airlines to try and track it down. The replaceable battery lasts for about a year. They don't usually sell for less than they are right now.
Fantastic, Give Me 99 of 'Em Right Now
Every member of the Reviews team is working on our top-notch Prime Day coverage, and while there are plenty of breakout deals stories for specific categories, the best place to start each day is our list of the Absolute Best Prime Day Deals. It was just updated this morning and will be updated again throughout the day today and into tomorrow. If you don't know what you want, or you're shopping for multiple items, or you simply want to behold hundreds of years of experience in one glorious webpage, that list is the place to be. It only contains good deals on items we've actually physically held and tested in our day-to-day lives. ChatGPT could never.
Regarding Julio Franco
A few things to consider about Julia Franco as you potentially buy old baseball cards on Amazon this Prime Day:
- No one knows what date he was born, and the two baseball cards above list different birthdays. (Julio Franco would find it impossible to date today.)
- He hit a major league home run when he was 47 years old.
- He owned a baby tiger and also a wolf.
- He is a health nut and routinely ate 14 egg whites for breakfast.
- It's quite possible he faced more pitchers than any other major leaguer ever—he probably did, given the length of his career in the relief pitcher era and the fact that he played in both the National and American leagues—though even the hardcore baseball stats geeks have not run the numbers.
Hell yeah, Julio Franco.
I Want to Buy the AirPods Max 2
I upgraded to the AirPods Pro 3 this year and I'm not a fan. They constantly fall out of my tiny, diminutive, waifish, skinny, feminine ears every time I smile or talk or breathe incorrectly. I've had to remove them mid-gym session due to their inability to stay put while I sweat. I've even tried third-party eartips—it all comes down to a design flaw. The noise cancellation and seamless pairing are nice, but even still, I wish I had different headphones every time I use them.
What I really wish for are the AirPods Max 2, which have an undeniably cool design, feel much louder, and as an added bonus they won't fail to do the very thing they were designed to do. The price tag is still a bit outlandish, but this sale brings them to a historic low more in line with their competitors. They have gesture controls and Adaptive Audio, but no power button or adjustable EQ. Maybe I actually want Beats? Much to think about. And research. You and I both can find more headphone deals here.
Water Is Important Too, I Guess
Welcome to day 3! As much as I love to talk about caffeine on this live blog, often first thing in the morning, it feels irresponsible of me to not mention that most of us are also usually chugging water. Some of us may prefer Diet Coke to H2O, but even still, almost everyone on the Reviews team has strong opinions about which water bottle provides the best hydration method. The Yeti Rambler is a popular pick among Reviews staffers and WIRED readers. It has a roomy 35-ounce capacity without being as large as your traditional 40-ounce option from the likes of Stanley and Owala. It also has Yeti's famously efficient insulation and a historic low price thanks to Prime Day in a few different colors.
For more Yeti deals, head over to our list.
My pick for best water bottle is 25% off.
Signing Off For the Night
OK, everyone—that'll do for the second day of live deal coverage during the increasingly misnamed Amazon Prime Day event.
More deals will keep rolling in. Lightning Deals will keep striking. We'll rejoin live Prime Day deals coverage tomorrow, bright and early at 6 a.m. Eastern, with my colleague Louryn Strampe.
In the meantime, check out our Absolute Best Prime Day Deals, and our Best Deals Under $100. If you'd rather a graze than a meal, you can also check in on the Best Prime Day Deals for Under $30.
The Best Budget Coffee Grinder Is Even Cheaper
The cost of a good burr coffee grinder—the kind you absolutely need in to make coffee actually taste good—throws a lot of my friends for a loop. They aren't ready to spend $200, let alone $500 or $1,500, to optimize the flavor of their morning brew.
That's when I turn to this trusty Oxo conical burr grinder. If you make French press, or Aeropress, or drip coffee, or espresso on a lower-cost machine with pressurized portafilter basket? This Oxo is always the lowest cost coffee grinder I can recommend with my whole heart. It offers reliable flavor, and much more precision than you'd expect. You'll discover fruity notes, or delicate toffee, in your coffee that you didn't previously know were there.
Right now for Prime Day, this Oxo is even more accessibly priced than usual: Just $82.
So maybe let this Oxo be the first “good” coffee grinder you buy—the one that shows you how much better coffee can taste when ground fresh, with a conical burr grinder. If you want to go wild on premium grinders later, I support you on your journey.
I Like Big Body Pillows and I Cannot Lie
I cannot sleep without a body pillow. And I love this super long pregnancy pillow from Bbhugme. It’s super versatile—you can mold it into various positions, like C, U, I, or L shapes. The pillow comes in a reusable, sturdy cotton carrying case, and the combination cover and the loose filling keep this pillow cool to the touch. The pillow is filled with tiny pressure-relieving microbeads that hug the body and support pressure points like your stomach, pelvis, knees, and ankles. All of these can start to ache when side sleeping without support.
The softness of the pillow is also adjustable, depending on preference: you can adjust how filled and squishy it feels using silicone disks at either end. You can push these towards or away from each other, and it'll change how full the pillow feels..
The World's Most Popular Espresso Machine is Quite Cheap Right Now
OK, I can't technically verify that the Barista Express is the world's most popular espresso machine. What I do know is that it's often cited as such, and that it's been Amazon's bestselling device of its kind since before I can remember. Why so popuplar? Because it sorta meets at the intersection of affordability, ease, and reliably consistent espresso.
When it's on sale at a good deal like this $500 Prime Day deal, you cannot find a grinder-included semi-automatic espresso machine as convenient and reliable as the Barista Express, with temperature and pressure this well-regulated and durability this assured. The cherry-red Barista Express in this picture has been on WIRED senior Gear editor Julian Chokkattu's counter for seven years, and is still pulling great shots, and foaming a nice latte.
The included grinder is not as good as my top-pick coffee grinders you can buy separately. But for this, you get to have only one device on your shelf, and it will grind right into your portafilter. Anyway, this is the best price I've seen on the Barista Express in a half-decade or so.
This Ninja Soft Serve Machine Is Pure Magic at 80 Percent the Price
I have never seen a grown person more excited than last year when my former WIRED colleague Adrienne So got her hands on the Ninja Creami Scoop and Swirl soft-serve ice cream maker—which at the time was known by the perplexing name of “Swirl by Creami” (9/10, WIRED Recommends). “Magic!” she wrote. “Almost as good as having your own personal frozen yogurt shop.”
While you do have to freeze your ingredients in advance, your imagination is pretty much your only limitation with this thing—whether fruity soft serve, Dole Whip, sorbet, or some crazy mochi-flecked tart frozen yogurt thing that So once sourced at a Pinkberry. She both lamented and celebrated becoming the most popular mom on the block.
Anyway, this Prime Day deal is the cheapest this device has been since the depths of winter. You, too, can be the most popular mom and/or dad on the block!
This Car Vacuum Can Clean all the Little Crevices
Usually if a vacuum costs less than $100, WIRED vacuum critic Nena Farrell will tell you to keep walking. Just like anybody you meet after 1 a.m. is probably not the person you want to meet, vacuums under $100 kinda just suck. Except this Black+Decker, which is only this cheap because it's on a great sale.
This Dustbuster Plus is a favorite for vacuuming cars, largely because of the flexibility offered by its long hose and handle. Cars are full of weird little corners. This can find its way into them, and make them clean. The charging stand is also nice, and will also hold the vacuum's various attachments. But like a lot of low-cost vacuums, this one only holds about 15 minutes of charge. Fine for a car, terrible for a school bus.
