Humanoid Robot Ordained As Buddhist Monk in South Korea
A humanoid robot has been ordained as a monk during a ceremony in Seoul held by the Joyge Order, South Korea’s largest Buddhist sect.
The robot, named “Gabi,” appears to be a Unitree G1 platform, but it wasn’t clear whether it was acting autonomously or being teleoperated when it pledged to devote itself to Buddhism.
