Framework Has A Better, More Take-Apartable Laptop
Released on 04/27/2026
[Narrator] The Framework Laptop 13 Pro
is the new repairable laptop from Framework,
a company that's main selling point
is that its laptops are designed to be fixed, modded,
and upgradable for years to come.
At the announcement event,
Framework CEO, Nirav Patel took aim
at the AI industry saying,
This industry wants you to own nothing and be happy.
We're fighting for a future
where you can own everything and be free.
The 13 Pro is made with that ethos in mind,
so everything in it can be easily swapped out,
upgraded, or replaced.
The 13 Pro gets a touchscreen,
better processing power,
and a big boost to battery life,
which Framework says can last for 20 hours
while streaming 4K Netflix videos.
That's a 12-hour jump from its previous laptop.
Everything on the 13 Pro
is easy to take apart and reassemble.
You can mix and match different connectors
in the port slots, swapping between USB-C, ethernet,
HDMI, or SD and microSD cards.
The case is easy to unscrew
and attach as are the screen bezel, keyboard, motherboard,
or just about any of the internal components.
The laptop is Ubuntu certified.
It can also run Linux or Microsoft Windows.
The 13 Pro is the same size
as Framework's existing 13-inch laptop models,
which means newer hardware can be swapped
into older machines as well,
which is good for the longevity of the device
and helps people hang onto their stuff.
