Gallery: Nerdiest TV Theme Covers: From Ramones' Spider-Man to Sonic Youth's Simpsons

So, in case it's gone unnoticed, the theme song to *Game of Thrones* is oddly catchy. Seriously, hum it at the office and it's almost guaranteed at least *one* person will join in. It's so infectious, in fact, that nearly everyone attempts to cover it – there are [acoustic versions](http://www.forevergeek.com/2011/07/10-game-of-thrones-theme-song-covers/), [strings versions](http://laughingsquid.com/cello-cover-of-game-of-thrones-theme-song-by-break-of-reality/), bağlama versions (or at least [one bağlama version](http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ige7pHTBcC0)), and even something called a "[70s metalstep remix](http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CJRPWA1Fi2s#!)" of the song. Even the show's young cast has been known to belt out [a cappella versions](http://www.vulture.com/2013/03/see-the-game-of-thrones-cast-sing-the-theme-song.html) of the tune. And now, thanks to the magic of the internet, we have a version from electropop outfit Chvrches. The Scottish threesome put their keyboard-and-vocals version on YouTube Monday and then posted it to the band's Facebook page with the missive "[we keep our promises…](https://www.facebook.com/CHVRCHES/posts/512515058810285)" Yes, much like the Lannister family, Chvrches also always pays its debts; and while it's unclear why they owed us this track, we're certainly glad to have it. Unlike, say, a bağlama version, this one (above) stays fairly true to the sound of [Ramin Djawadi](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1014697/)'s original theme, but is played on the dance-y keyboards that produce Chvrches Glasgow-club-ready sound. Chvrches, of course, are just participating in a long tradition of bands covering timeless theme songs in an attempt to put their own spin on a great show (or just for the LoLs). [The Who once covered](http://thewho.com/album/a-quick-one/) the theme for the *Batman* TV show, metal band Powerglove took on the opener to the *X-Men* animated series, and Sonic Youth even once tackled the *Simpsons* theme.
