CHIBA, Japan — Final Fantasy aroma candles, Metal Gear Solid snacks and Yakuza mahjongg tile sets are just some of the oddball items that videogame nerds can blow their disposable income on at this year's Tokyo Game Show. In the far corner of the Makuhari Messe exhibition hall in this Tokyo suburb, Japan's game publishers sell all kinds of limited-edition swag to true fans who want to live the videogames, not just play them. The four-day show will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday. Once the crowds are done getting their fill of playable demos for games like Monster Hunter 3G and [Final Fantasy XIII-2](http://stag-komodo.wired.com/gamelife/2011/06/final-fantasy-xiii-2-4/), they can buy all kinds of products featuring their favorite characters — including some things you wouldn't believe actually exist. Wired.com got a peek at the merch booths during the business days of the show. Here are some of our best finds, and how much they'd cost you (100 yen = about $1.30). __Above:__ Monster Hunter Ki-gurumi Pajamas -------------------------------- "Ki-gurumi" means something approximating "wearable doll." So instead of simply owning a plush version of the lovable cat [Airou](http://www.capcom.co.jp/goods/airou/) from the Monster Hunter action games, you can dress up like him in these hooded pajamas. Just like this overly enthusiastic employee of Capcom is doing. For only 4,900 yen, you might say these cat pajamas are the cat's pajamas.

Yakuza Gambling Accessories --------------------------- The men of the [Yakuza game series](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakuza_(video_game)), being gangsters, spend an inordinate amount of their time gambling with their ill-gotten gains. Now you can join in the fun with a liar's dice cup (1,000 yen) and an upscale manly set of mahjongg tiles. Caution: Once you spend the 9,800 yen on the set and crack it open, you will be disappointed if you do not know how to play mahjongg.

Seiken Densetsu 20th Anniversary Soundtrack Box ----------------------------------------------- Lovers of the music from Square Enix's [Secret of Mana series](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_of_Mana) will lose their minds over this gigantic 20-disc collection. It includes the original soundtracks to all the games, from the 1991 Game Boy original to the latest Nintendo DS entries, plus two discs of arranged music. It's all packaged in a beautiful collector's box with the discs arranged in the pages of a cloth-bound book. The only reason I didn't buy it is because there's no new music in the set; every disc was previously released separately. At 21,000 yen, it's a steep purchase. Mana fans might also be interested to know that Square Enix plans to release three brand-new arranged albums with music from the series in rapid succession, each one produced by one of the three musicians whose music graces the games: Kenji Ito, Hiroki Kikuta and Yoko Shimomura. It's always good to buy something at the Square Enix Music booth, because you get a Tokyo Game Show exclusive sampler CD for free. This year's edition features tracks from upcoming games like [Theatrhythm Final Fantasy](http://stag-komodo.wired.com/gamelife/2011/09/theatrhythm-hands-on/) and Bravely Default: Flying Fairy.

Super Mario Plush Pipe ---------------------- The San-Ei company produces high-quality plush toys of Nintendo characters, so even though the gamemaker doesn't exhibit at Tokyo Game Show you can still take some Mario home with you. Not yet available is this plush warp pipe, into which you can insert any of your Mario dolls or really anything else you can think of. It'll be on sale in December for 1,260 yen.

Sexy Smartphone Decorator ------------------------- Set far back in the corner of the merchandise booths away from innocent children, the company Toypla sells these iPhone skins that turn your every conversation into sexy talking time.

Owners of arcade machines and arcade-style home game controllers flock to Sanwa's booth to purchase high-quality buttons (from 180 to 210 yen) and a candy-colored array of joystick knobs.

Resident Evil Punk T-Shirts --------------------------- Capcom will put these snazzy [Resident Evil](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil) (called Biohazard in Japan) tees on sale in December in collaboration with clothing maker [Punk Drunkers](http://www.punk-d.com/). Each design is 5,250 yen and is best paired with the upcoming line of pre-ripped Biohazard denims.

Metal Gear Solid Fans --------------------- Metal Gear fans will probably want to buy these Metal Gear fans. 1,100 yen for each of four stylish designs.

Final Fantasy Aroma Candles --------------------------- "I wish," many a Final Fantasy fan has no doubt mused aloud to himself from time to time, "that my bathroom could smell like [Sephiroth](http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sephiroth)." Square Enix has now granted these fans their fondest desire, with these [Final Fantasy VII](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VII) scented candles, one for protagonist Cloud Strife and one for his arch enemy and frequent slash fanfiction paramour Sephiroth. 2,200 yen each.
