People are trapped with fear. Even more than the quake it's the psychological impact that's difficult to overcome right now. The past week had calmed the situation and life was returning to normalcy. But with today's big quake, fear of another quake or tremor occurring, has yet again stranded people out of their homes.

Rescue teams from three countries---Nepal, USA and Venezuela--- are conducting a search and rescue mission at Mitranagar, Kathmandu. The building has collapsed on the road and there is a possibility of people buried under the rubble. Praying that no one is there. Another earthquake of magnitude 7.4 hit Nepal at 12:35PM local time. The epicenter was in Namche Bazar, a rural town near Mt. Everest and close to the Chinese Border, approximately 83 km from Kathmandu. According to the US Geological survey, it was 15km deep. Phuyalthok is small hamlet surrounded by terrace hills located in Goldungha, on the outskirts of Kathmandu city. It's a serene place. The presence of rain in the past few days is reflected in the vividness of the green surroundings. Amidst this tranquility is a grieving grandmother. Sani Kanchi, has lost her twenty-year-old granddaughter Ambika Phuyal.

Ambika could not make it out of the house in time. Phuyalthok has had three deaths in recent Quake and seven-eight injured. Help is yet to arrive. I'm trying to get them some tent material and first aid meds by tomorrow.

Searching for Saulin. Saturday is a holiday in Nepal and so the children were at home. Among them was nine-year-old Saulin Shrestha, who was last seen playing around his courtyard. Sankhu, a Newari community of around 10,000, located on the outskirts towards the east side of Kathmandu was spared because most adults were out working in the fields when the major earthquake hit during midday. The search operation is a mammoth task given the scale of damage. Its a needle in the haystack situation.

Saulin's mother, Sapna Shrestha, is at the point of exhaustion. She keeps oscillating around her neighborhood where Saulin was last seen playing with a football. With many stories of people being miraculously rescued after days of being buried, I wouldn't doubt that deep down Sapna lives with that hope.

A group of Monks from Sakya Tharig Gonpa (monastery) were focusing their efforts to search for Saulin's body. With only yellow rubber gloves to protect their hands, the Monks put in their entire might to sift through the rubble, spending hour after hour, hoping to find Saulin.

Dutch search and rescue dog Geira is searching through the rubble for Saulin. After an hour of sniffing around in vain, Geira was exhausted and taken away by the Dutch team to hydrate and rest. Two other search and rescue teams had covered the area earlier in the day. Search for Saulin to be continued…… I'll be going back in a few days to see Sapna and find out about Saulin.

On our way to Kintang we drive across this truck ferrying volunteers from self-styled Indian Guru Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's socio-spiritual organisation Dera Sacha Sauda. We drove by MSG's huge relief camp, located above Trishuli Bazaar. Saw hundreds of volunteers. All help is great and much appreciated at this point in time. Just as long as it doesn't come with strings attached or a hidden agenda.
