This image of the sky around the bright star Alpha Centauri AB. The blue halo around Alpha Centauri AB is an artifact of the photographic process, the star is really pale yellow in color like the sun.

Rosetta’s instruments detected an outburst event from Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. The source was traced back to a location in the Atum region, on the comet’s large lobe, as indicated in this image. The inset image was taken a few hours after the outburst and shows the approximate source location.

This wide-field image shows the Milky Way stretching across the southern sky. The beautiful Carina Nebula is seen at the right of the image glowing in pink. At the center of the image is the constellation of Crux (The Southern Cross). The bright yellow star at the left of the image is Alpha Centauri.

This image from the Sentinel-2A satellite captures Turkey's Third Bosphorus Bridge. The hybrid cable-stayed suspension bridge forms part of the ongoing 93 mile-long Northern Marmara Highway project, and opened on 26 August 2016.

This dual view of Jupiter was taken on August 23, when NASA's Juno spacecraft was 2.8 million miles from the gas giant planet. This Saturday, Juno will pass a mere 2,500 miles above Jupiter’s swirling clouds in its closest approach yet.
