Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Flex Mode, main camera. One of the best parts of these folding phones is that you can easily get top-down shots like this of food without needing to stand up and hover in the middle of the restaurant. Just fold the device halfway and the camera viewfinder will move to the screen that's visible to you while the cameras still point down. (These oysters were delicious, too.)

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, main camera. One fun feature of both these folding phones is Dual Preview. You can let the person you're photographing see the viewfinder on the front screen, so they know exactly what they look like before you take the shot. Great for all you Instagram husbands.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Night mode. The Fold3 and Flip3 fare well in low light when you use the camera's Night mode, but the results aren't as good as what you'll find on Samsung's top-end Galaxy S21 Ultra. Compare it with the following Pixel 5A photo.

Google Pixel 5A, Night Sight. This is a $450 phone that has the same camera system as the $700 Pixel 5. I prefer the camera quality here over Samsung's folding phones. The Pixel photo has more noise but it's just as sharp and has nicer contrast as well as more accurate colors.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3, main camera. I was right next to LaGuardia airport and was able to quickly snap this with the Flip3. The plane is tack sharp\! I love this photo.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3, Portrait mode. Samsung is aggressive with its over-brightening as usual, sucking out all the contrast, but this is still a great shot considering the subject was moving very quickly. And it was captured in Portrait mode no less, so you get the nice bokeh effect around the dog (it's not perfect though, you can see the blur effect clipping my dog's ears).

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Flex Mode, Night Sight. Here's another example of Flex Mode. I just folded the Fold3 in half and used the screen angled toward my face to see what the camera was looking at. It makes it easier to frame the shot\! Too bad the pizza didn't taste as good.

Samsung Galaxy Fold3, Portrait mode. Samsung blew out the sky a little bit here, which happened fairly frequently. The image is still sharp, and the blur effect is pretty darn good.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Portrait mode. This dog's name is Agathor and she is very cute. I love the detail here, and the Fold3 did a great job with the blur outline.
