Moto G Stylus, Night mode. Motorola pumps up colors in its night photos, but that doesn't make it a better photo. It's not as sharp as the A51's shot, with everything looking a little muddy.

Samsung Galaxy A51, main camera. This phone is hit-or-miss when it comes to dealing with high-contrast scenes. Here, it's a miss. The sky is over-exposed, and you have that over-sharpening effect, too.

Samsung Galaxy A51, Macro mode. This is one of those camera modes that you won't use often, but I'm glad it's built in. It's fun zooming super closeup to all sorts of things, and the results are pretty solid.

Samsung Galaxy A51, portrait mode. I haven't had too much trouble with Samsung's portrait mode on this phone, called Live Focus. It's not the best, but it does a fair job blurring out the background behind subjects.
