*Kovatch quickly learned that certain shapes couldn't be cut out of glass and refined his design to feature smaller parts and more straight edges, as seen in the version on the right.*

*Kovatch first tried applying the software approach of batch processing glass pieces, but was unhappy with the results. In the end he had to cut, grind, and fit each piece sequentially.*
