Gallery: 6 More Ridley Scott Films Ready for Sci-Fi Reboots
01Blade Runner
Once he finishes with Alien spinoff Prometheus, Ridley Scott will get to work on some kind of new *Blade Runner* film — a sequel, prequel, reboot or something. In the world of nerdia that's big news, but it also leaves a lot of unanswered questions about what he plans to do with one of sci-fi's essential films. Since there's little to do between now and the time the cameras start rolling except speculate (and worry) about what [this new *Blade Runner*](http://stag-komodo.wired.com/underwire/2011/08/new-blade-runner/) will look like (*Blade Walker* starring Harrison Ford?), we're cranking the conjecture up to 11 and taking wild guesses at what other reboots of Scott's back-catalog could look like. Without further adieu, may we present our Wildly Speculative List of Top Six Potential (But Highly Unlikely) Ridley Scott Reboots.
02Thelma & Louise
__Film:__ *Thelma & Louise* __Elevator pitch:__ Chick flick meets *The Curious Case of Benjamin Button* __Plot:__ In 2041, in an attempt to retrieve the abs of his youth, 70-year-old scientist J.D. Kurzweil (played by Brad Pitt) develops a way to reverse aging. The only problem is he can't find a way to stop the reversal once it starts. When the magic serum is stolen by two babes (Katee Sackhoff and Jessica Alba) seeking to relive their college years, the scientist must catch them before he turns into an infant. When a 23-year-old Kurzweil finds the now-teenage ladies in the dystopic Los Angeles club scene, will he take his fountain of youth and run, or join the ladies in a wild gambit to stay forever young (and probably get laid)? *—Angela Watercutter*
03blackhawk-down
__Film:__ *Blackhawk Down* __Elevator pitch:__ *Alien* extraction meets *Inglourious Basterds* __Plot:__ In 2078, a hovercraft filled with soldiers from another planet try to bring peace and food rations to a decrepit city. There, angry citizens led by the renegade Headhunter (Mickey Rourke) have begun attacking each other to extract gold fillings from each other's teeth. The compassionate alien leader (Zoe Saldana) only wants to calm the rioters, but when one of her minions gets stampeded to death, she reanimates the crew's cryogenically frozen sadist (Sylvester Stallone) to restore order. The earthlings meanwhile have their own secret weapon lying in wait: It Girl's great-great-granddaughter (Chloe Moretz). *—Hugh Hart*
04Legend
__Film:__ *Legend* __Elevator pitch:__ *Fanboys* meets *My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic* __Plot:__ In a bizarre turn of events, Habro gets overtaken by a new uber-conservative religious cult whose leader, Ness Dark, has decided he "just doesn't feel right" about grown men playing with My Little Pony toys and begins enforcing age limits on the purchase of the ponies. Agreeing that religious zealotry of any kind is a threat, a team of [Bronies](stag-komodo.wired.com/underwire/2011/06/bronies-my-little-ponys/) — led by a charismatic young man named [Sethisto](http://www.equestriadaily.com/) ([Seth Green](http://www.mylittleponynews.com/2010/10/seth-green-and-my-little-pony.html)) — joins forces with Anonymous, infiltrates the cult's compound and [tolerates and loves the shit out of everyone](http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xol1s1psTOg/TVktYK2hXPI/AAAAAAAAAJU/1IunAss8APY/s1600/129764660282.png). Through this action, Ness Dark learns there is nothing to fear in the brotherhood of the pony. Balance is returned. *—Angela Watercutter*
05Black Rain
__Film:__ *Black Rain* __Elevator pitch:__ *Black Rain* meets [*Toyko Vice: An American Reporter on the Police Beat in Japan*](http://www.amazon.com/Tokyo-Vice-American-Reporter-Police/dp/0307378799) __Plot:__ Actually, could we just remake this American-cop-takes-on-Yakuza movie, but have it be written by Jake Adelstein this time? That would be kind of great. *—Angela Watercutter*
06G.I. Jane
__Film:__ *G.I. Jane* __Elevator pitch:__ *G.I. Jane* meets *The Hunger* __Plot:__ By 2015, the repeal of "[Don't Ask, Don't Tell](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don't_ask,_don't_tell)" has been fully implemented but there are still corners of the military where it's not OK to be gay. Navy Lt. Jordan O'Neill (Evangeline Lilly) joins the SEALs, where no one wants her to succeed. Pretty much all other plot points, with the exception that in this film O'Neill is falsely accused of being straight, are the same as the original *G.I. Jane*, right down to the "Suck. My...." line. *—Angela Watercutter*
07Gladiator
__Film:__ *Gladiator* __Elevator pitch:__ *Gladiator* ... in space! __Plot:__ By 2100, everyone in the universe is living in slums run by manipulative, grimy slumlords. When the ruler (Harrison Ford) of a large ghetto called Rome on Planet 23 dies unexpectedly (cough *murder* cough), his territory is given over to his manipulative son, Com-2 (Chris Colfer). After Com-1 throws out his tougher older brother Max-1 (Channing Tatum), the eldest son comes back for revenge. They battle on hovercrafts or some such crap (at that point all that matters are the 3-D effects, really). Are you not entertained? *—Angela Watercutter*
