__Bionic Bird__ Adults of a certain age may fondly remember the [Tim Bird](http://www.amazon.com/Schylling-NTN-Tim-Bird/dp/B000ELORZO), a colorful toy birdie that flew circles with the help of a wind-up motor. The [Bionic Bird](http://mybionicbird.com) is its offspring. Made by the grandson of the guy who invented the original, the Bluetooth-enabled flyer can be guided by smartphone. $117

__Schlage Sense__ Home security vet Schlage (rhymes with Hague) released a Bluetooth bolt of its own this year, joining Kwikset's Kevo and other app-controlled smartlocks. The [Sense](http://ces.schlage.com/) doesn't raise the bar much—like other locks, you can add and delete access codes and check the status—but it does offer integration with Apple's HomeKit and Siri. We're mostly psyched because Schlage makes some seriously tough and reliable locks. Price TBD.

__BioLite Lamps__ NanoGrid, a clever light set from camping tech outfitters [BioLite](http://biolite.com), gives you a few different ways to light up your campsite. A lantern throws 200 lumens, diffused gently with a clever beam-bouncing design. Two tiny satellite lamps, connected by ten feet of cable, can be dangled from branches overhead. Price TBD.

__Mercedes Benz F 015__ This self-driving car makes it clear: It is on like *Discs of Tron*. With a body made of a carbon-fiber/plastic blend, [Benz's concept car](https://www.mercedes-benz.com/en/mercedes-benz/innovation/research-vehicle-f-015-luxury-in-motion/) looks impossibly space-aged and sleek. You don't have to drive it, so why not relax in one of its four plush swiveling chairs? And why not take in a movie on one of its six HD touchscreens?

__Sony NW-ZX2 Hi-Res Walkman__ The [newest addition](http://store.sony.com/128-gb-walkman-hi-res-digital-music-player-zid27-NWZZX2/cat-27-catid-ESP-Portable-Electronics) to the venerable Walkman lineup sports a 4-inch screen and runs Android, but this ain't no phone. It's all about the audio. Not only does it play 192kHz/24-bit FLAC, DSD, Apple Lossless, and pretty much any audio format, it will also upscale your MP3s. It has Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth capabilities. It also costs more than $1,100.

__PicoBrew Zymatic__ [This miracle machine](http://www.picobrew.com/Shop/productdetails.cshtml/0) automates the process of brewing beer. You connect it to the Web, download a recipe from its crowdsourced database, fill it with the necessary ingredients, and start your brew. After a few hours, add some yeast. Let it ferment for an excruciating week, then drink your 2.5 gallons of homemade beer. It's $1,700 for the machine itself or $1,800 with an empty keg thrown in.

__Samsung JS9500 SUHD 4K TV__ It doesn't matter whether these curvy 65-, 78-, or 88-inch [Samsung sets](http://www.samsung.com/us/news/24393) are powered on or off—they still look beautiful. Turn them on for the full effect, though, as the colors and brightness produced by the first-generation nano-crystal-enhanced 4K panels will loosen your jaw. Onscreen action appear wit-sharp, and Samsung's new Tizen smart platform looks promising.

Also, the over-ears have bigger, more comfortable earpads for better noise isolation. The MSRP on these over-ears is $499.

__Grush Brush__ Mary Poppins said: "You find the fun, and snap! The job's a game." This is what [Grush Brush](http://www.grushgamer.com/) does for teeth brushing. Its motion sensor tracks kids' brushing activity by pairing with a smartphone app. If they do a good and thorough job, they can win a variety of age-appropriate mobile games. The app also acts as a dashboard so parents know how well and for how long their kids are actually brushing their teeth. $60
