Gallery: Gallery: 3-D Projections Make Buildings Come Alive
01volkswagen-100
Architectural Projection Mapping is a relatively new art form, but it may give fireworks shows a run for their money in the outdoor nighttime entertainment department. Using 3-D effects, motion graphics and choreographed music video artists are able to transform the surfaces of buildings and objects into unique, giant canvases for their animations. The effect can be stunning. Here we've collected some of our favorite examples. Enjoy! __Above:__ Volkswagen Factory Becomes Huge Canvas -------------------------------------- The original Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburgh, Germany, is made into an audiovisual canvas by art and technology producer Seeper. This multimedia presentation was part of Autostadt’s 10-year anniversary celebrations. *Video: Courtesy of Seeper*

Lighting Up Jakarta ------------------- London based D-Fuse staged this light show on the Jakarta History Museum's façade. The projection traces the history of the area from ancient swamp, through colonial and revolutionary times, to imagining its future as Jakarta's new creative playground. Over 25,000 people flooded the museum to watch this event, which marked the first of its kind in Indonesia.
