    The exterior may look similar to the original, but many details have been rethought. The canvas has a softer, slicker finish, the tongue is nonslip, and the circular ankle patch is now embroidered.

    The foxing---the band wrapping around the lower edge of the shoe---rises higher to meet the toecap.
