Whether you're into cute furry mammals, hairless rodents or menacing reptiles, live webcams are the ultimate way to get your fix from the comfort of your desk. Last week, the the Smithsonian National Zoo launched a [new webcam featuring four brand new lion cubs](http://stag-komodo.wired.com/wiredscience/2010/09/lion-cub-webcam/). This inspired us to promptly waste countless hours hunting down more animal cams and ogling various adorable and strange animals. Here we've put together our favorite live animal feeds that we came across. If you've got a favorite that isn't in this gallery, let us know. WARNING: You may not be able to stop watching. Baby Barn Owls -------------- Ashley and Carrie were born Aug. 7 and 8 to Molly and McGee in San Marcos, California. While these owlets are wobbly, cute and seemingly fragile, they are also predators. The Owl Box cam carries this disclaimer: "This is a live feed of a Wild Barn Owl and family. Owls are carnivores. They hunt, kill and consume small rodents and other small animals. This is nature and contains scenes of the cycle of life which may occur at any time without warning. We do not control the weather or what happens in this owl box. It is nature and our policy is to let nature take its course." Alligators ---------- Known as the [gatorcam](http://gatorland.com/gatorcam.php), this site allows you to control the video camera for a minute at a time. The camera streams from Gatorland, an alligator theme park and nature conservatory in Central Florida. *Image: [Gatorland](http://www.gatorland.com/gallery2/main.php)*
03nakedcats-t
Hairless Cats ------------- There isn't much information provided for this webstream, but as far as we can tell, this is a litter of [sphynx cats](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphynx_%28cat%29), also known as Canadian hairless cats. They remind us of Dr. Evil's [Mr. Bigglesworth](http://bennyhills.fortunecity.com/leary/378/bigglesworth.html), except that they haven't been [sent into space](http://stag-komodo.wired.com/thisdayintech/2010/08/0820sputnik-5-space-dogs-return/)... yet. *Webcam credit: Ustream/[famille-fleury](http://www.ustream.tv/channel/famille-fleury)*
04panda
Baby Panda ---------- This [panda cam](http://www.sandiegozoo.org/pandacam/index.html) streams live from the San Diego Zoo. It switches between 4 different enclosures, one of which contains panda Bai Yun and her baby. For action-packed viewing, this site has a time lapse feature that plays an entire day's worth of footage in less than a minute. *Image: [San Diego Zoo](http://www.sandiegozoo.org/pandacam/gallery.html)*
05puppies-t
Puppy cam 2.0 ------------- No animal cam collection would be complete without puppies. Following in the footsteps of the wildly popular [Shiba Inu puppy cam](http://www.ustream.tv/sfshiba) that ruined millions of people's productivity last year, these three Japanese Spitz puppies are streaming live from western Tennessee. *Webcam credit: Ustream/[Sweet Samurai](http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sweet-samurai-japanese-spitz-puppy-cam---8-7-10)*
06alpaca
Alpacas ------- This [rural webcam](http://www.hunterhillalpacas.com/cam.html) comes from the Hunter Hill Alpacas farm in Central Connecticut. Alpacas are related to camels and llamas, and raised primarily for their soft fleece. *Image: [Hunter Hill Alpacas](http://www.hunterhillalpacas.com/PictureGallery.htm)*
07bear
Black Bears ----------- Three bears are visible from this webcam: Ted, an 11-year-old male; Honey, a 12-year-old female; and Lucky, a yearling male. They live at the [North American Bear Center](http://www.bear.org/website/) in Minnesota. *Webcam credit: Ustream/ [North American Bear Center](http://www.ustream.tv/channel/north-american-bear-center-webcam)*
08molerat
Naked Mole-Rats --------------- These odd creatures live at the Smithsonian National Zoo in transparent tubes meant to mimic underground tunnels. The [webcam](http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/SmallMammals/default.cfm?Cam=NMR) is focused on a busy intersection between two tunnels (you need to scroll down to view the webcam). *Image: Wikimedia/[Nacktmull](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nacktmull.jpg)*
