*Digital fiction tends to mimic the evolution of digital music by moving into mashups, samples and long-tail microniche territories, such as hardboiled noir stories, only with guns, only set 500 years in the future.
*There would seem to be some general network-culture principles at work here. I think you can find this same mind of micromediation and mash-up recombination, not just in music and fiction, but in contemporary family structure, warfare, religion, politics and food.
