Hardened Structures is a Professional Construction Program Management Company specializing in the confidential planning, design and covert construction of hardened facilities, hardened homes, underground bunkers, survival communities, rural compounds and fortresses.

These facilities are designed with independent sources of power and water and typically incorporate a substantial underground component. They can serve as a primary dwelling, vacation home, corporate retreat, long term shelter or expanded multi-function compound. Client confidentiality and total project secrecy are paramount on all of our design/build projects. (((Liking the Gothic secrecy of these subterranean castles; company is centered in Virginia Beach Virginia, ground zero for fed spookville.)))

A Hardened Structure Facility can be constructed in most localities, urban, suburban or rural. By its nature, a Hardened Structure is usually designed to perform its primary mission both during and after a war-like or criminal attack, in the event of a major natural disaster or accidental/man made emergency. Thus making hardening one of its primary requirements and a significant part of the cost.

Options that we offer with our Storm Shelters:

Underground, walk-in security vaults. These vaults can be built into our Storm and Fallout Shelters. To add a security vault inside a shelter, it will add $1314.50 to the price of any size shelter. The vault can be added to any shelter 10’ or longer. The door going into the vault is made of heavy gauge steel. The door has a heavy duty, hardened steel and a deadbolt lock which can only be opened with your key. The door can be opened from inside the vault without a key in case you accidentally lock yourself in. These vaults can protect you and your valuables. Millions of people lose their valuables to burglars each year. You don’t have to be one of them. Please call us if you have any questions.

Hydraulic jack. A safety option that we can install is a hydraulic jack rated at eight (8) tons which will lift the door in excess of 20 inches. This will keep you from being trapped inside by a fallen tree or debris being blown on top of the shelter. This jack is $165.00 extra, installed.

Fold up beds. These beds fold against the wall when they are not being used. When folded, the bed takes up approximately eight (8) inches of space against the side wall. We can install one bed in an 8’ long shelter, and up to five (5) beds in a 20’ long shelter. The beds are $132.00 per bed frame, or $308.00 per bed with the mattress.

Handrail. A small, sturdy outside handrail can be added for $44.00 extra.
Two doors. We will build your storm shelter with two sets of steps and two doors for an extra $1210.00. This is most commonly done where one door is inside a home or building and the other door opens to the outside.

Emergency door. We will build a small emergency door or trap door with no steps for an additional $715.00.

Safety windows. You have the option of seeing out or closing the heavy gauge metal shutter over the window without having to go outside the shelter. Windows in the above-ground shelter are $187.00 each. We would have to add a small emergency escape hatch to mount the windows in our underground shelters. This hatch would cost $715.00 plus the price of each window you want. (...)
