*Sarkozy courtiers – who often hate each other's guts and are reduced to sniping wars in the French press – can't seem to help unanimously liking Carla Bruni.
Either Carla's got her green-eyed Italian voodoo mojo working or – who knows – maybe there is just something about the woman that even dangerous, resentful people are unable to successfully resent. There oughta be a million people with the stilettos out for Carla by now – especially within the deeply unstable Sarkozy clan. Yet they all seem to worship her.
The kids, the Hungarian surrealist dad, even the two ex-wives – who never hesitate to put the boot in to Sarkozy himself – are on good to excellent terms with Carla.
*Rachida Dati here is supposed to be Carla's embittered deadly rival, yet they look like they just came back from some upscale sororority kegger. And the people who have known
Carla longest and most intimately are also the most intensely loyal to her.
*Maybe there's much to be said for living a life with your skeletons in broad daylight.
