Vbstv Vice Magazine’s VBS TV, an original video streaming site which focuses on "rescuing you from television’s deathlike grip," combines the high production values of traditional media with more cutting-edge topics typically found in online shows to offer the music fan something they won’t find on either TV or YouTube.

There’s plenty of interest to the music fan, including videos by bands like Klaxons and !!!, but I prefer the live show footage (Jay Reatard, Man Like Me, Shy Child) and interviews (Ian MacKay, Chan Marshall, Andrew WK, Will Oldham), because they give you a view of the artists that’s unavailable elsewhere.

My favorite recent show is Soft Focus’s interview with Mark E. Smith, in which The Fall frontman discusses Britain’s own botched "9/11," lists his "powerful enemies," apologizes for some of the television programs to come out of his country, and mocks Steven Seagal‘s touring R&B band:

(Honorable mention:  Finally, someone takes a look at the toxic state of Brooklyn’s Williamsburg and Greenpoint areas.)
