BrandwiikthumbReginald Fils-Aime is Grand Marketer of the Year, says Brandweek magazine's latest issue. The president of Nintendo beat out a strong list of competitors, including, somehow, the guy responsible for those Geico caveman commercials.

Reggie's naturally competitive nature made him the perfect person to lead the brand, outgoing Nintendo VP George Harrison told the magazine.

Fils-Aime couldn't be more thrilled about Wii's success. After all, he loves to win. Harrison recalls E3 2006 when he and Nintendo lead designer Shigeru "The Spielberg of videogames" Miyamoto were defeated by Fils-Aime [at] Wii Sports Tennis. "Somehow the two of us lost . . . Reggie is a pretty avid gamer and competitor, no matter what."
