
Donna Djordjevich and students from the University of Southern California are developing a videogame to help teach national security personnel how to deal with emergency situations.
In Ground Truth, a collision with a tanker creates a chlorine gas cloud and the player must decide how best to evacuate the area and deploy emergency personnel. Djordjevich believes that the game could train first responders faster than traditional methods, but realizes that the game's less likely to be taken seriously if it looks like yesterday's news:
The game's future is, at the moment, undecided, but Djordjevich hopese the Department of Homeland Security will secure the rights.
