OK, question: Could you survive a week using only the technology available in 1983 (a.k.a. No laptops and certainly no Google for you!)? How about a week with only 1976-era electronics (think: Touch tone phones and Pong)? Or, could you handle living like it’s 1957 (which was pretty much the electronic stone age)?
Here’s a hallelujah to it being 2007. But since HD television channel MOJO is putting nine teched-out guys and gals to the challenge in its new reality show Technology Jones, we’ll happily sit in front of our widescreen, flat-panel, plasma TVs and watch as they try to MacGyver brick-sized, 2-pound cell phones into their 3-by-5-by-1/2-inch pants pockets. (We, of course, will have our Blackberries, iPods, keys, gum, pens, and pencils all tucked into the same pocket in our pants. But I digress.)
The first of the eight episodes airs in October, and I’ll be posting again closer to its premiere date. Quotes from the producers and images from the show to come.
