Yesterday we got a tip off from Gadget Lab reader Chris McDermott, telling us that the iPhone was on sale in the Isle of Man, unlocked and costing £500 ($1000). As promised, Chris went back to the store to investigate. Sadly, it was a false alarm.
There was indeed an iPhone in the window, but that iPhone wasn't for sale. Or unlocked:
