Manx iPhone Story Update: A Tall Tale

Yesterday we got a tip off from Gadget Lab reader Chris McDermott, telling us that the iPhone was on sale in the Isle of Man, unlocked and costing £500 ($1000).... The sign that said it would work on all networks was apparently meant to be next to a different phone (a [Samsung] U600) but "the new girl" put it next to the wrong one.

There was indeed an iPhone in the window, but that iPhone wasn't for sale. Or unlocked:

All a load of bullshit I'm afraid. I thought it was too good to be true. I had vision's of money making schemes for a while there [...] The sign that said it would work on all networks was apparently meant to be next to a different phone (a [Samsung] U600) but "the new girl" put it next to the wrong one. Absolute stars or what?

So, sorry to get your hopes up, Isle of Man readers. But if the the unlocking software finally makes it to market, you can grab a US model at an exchange rate-tastic price of £250.
