The Church of England is attempting to recruit an unlikely ally in its ill-considered fight against Sony and Resistance -- the "people of Japan." Said the dean of Manchester Cathedral, which appears in the game during an intense alien gunfight scene:
Of course, 99% of them don't, going by the current rate of Christianity in
Japan. And even then, I'm not sure what the other 1% would care, as the use of religious iconography in what the Church would consider inappropriate context is de rigeur in Japanese pop culture.
Ever seen Saint
Tail, in which a preteen nun-in-training transforms into a shadow thief using the power of Jesus? It's blasphemous to the extreme and nobody even realizes it. There is nothing -- nothing -- that's off limits. Good luck with this one, Reverend.
