George Lucas slipped in late and split to catch a plane following the 30th Anniversary screening hosted by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Monday night.

Joining him were Mark Hamill, Carrie Fischer and 11 of Lucas' 22 behind-the-scene collaborators who won or were nominated for Oscars for their contributions to the 1977 classic, made for $13 millioon back in the day, according to producer Gary Kurtz.

Starboys (including Erik Deutscher, pictured) turned out in force too, lined up around the block for the screening, but left the costumes at home. Lone exception: one woman who showed up wearing Princess Leia earmuffs she bought at Disneyland.

Lucas and company got a standing ovation at the end of the screening, and after a few minutes fielding questions, the maestro left the stage.
