Sacramento police will not be filing criminal charges in the case of Jennifer Strange, who died while taking part in a contest to win a Wii. The mother of three died after participating in "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" at a local radio station, KDND. Police found that the radio station was not culpable or liable, and therefore no charges will be pressed against anyone involved in the contest. Sacramento County District Attorney Jan Scully summed it up this way:

She [Strange] knew what the contest involved when she entered it and had the option to stop or discontinue her participation in the contest at any time.

So basically, it's nothing more than a tragically stupid accident. Nobody's fault, really, but several radio station employees were fired after Strange's death, just the same. Strange's family has filed a civil wrongful death suit against KDND's station manager, the DJs who ran the contest and the radio station's parent company, Entercom Communications.
