Don Carmody's name might not sound familiar, but odds are you're familiar with his work; the film producer has had his hands on countless movies, and is currently involved with two in-process game flicks--Silent Hill 2 and Clock Tower.

According to Carmody, production is slow but moving for both films, though each one is suffering from its own issues. For Silent Hill 2, that means the loss of director Christophe Gans, who Carmody says is too busy with another project to get involved.

The issues with Clock Tower are a bit trickier. It's already gone through a small army of writers, and seems to be floundering a bit.
Says Carmody:

I became involved in the project about a year ago and I just felt they were going the wrong way. So I added my two-cents and they're trying to put it in. We'll see what happens there. Hopefully it'll develop out, not every iron you stick in the fire gets used.

Yeah, so we're pretty screwed on that one, sounds like. I didn't have particularly high hopes for it anyway, though. Its subject matter--a killer who sneaks around and terrorizes school girls with an enormous pair of scissors--is just too darn cheesy to make into a good movie. Of course, they could go the other way and make it a good-time slasher flick, but I think they're going to try to make it super scary and fail miserably, kind of like House of the Dead. Thoughts?
