SCi has tweaked release plans for two of its biggest upcoming titles, Kane & Lynch and Crossfire, to give them PS3 release windows. The two titles were originally slated to be released on PC and 360 during the company's 2007 financial year, but the plan now calls for release in the 2008 fiscal year, and adds PS3 versions in, as well.
What this means actual-calendar-wise is that Kane & Lynch will be out for the PS3, 360 and PC this Christmas, with Crossfire following up shortly afterwards on all three platforms in early 2008.
PS3 versions of the games were in the works all along--the PS3 versions of the game are already in "advanced stages of development"--but SCi had said it was going to wait until the system had enough of an install base before releasing the titles. Apparently, SCi's board believes that by 2008, enough people will have PS3s to make releasing those versions worthwhile.
Speaking of Kane & Lynch, the game isn't even finished yet, but SCi is already in negotiations for the film rights.
