With Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell already worldwide successes, Ubisoft announced today plans to further expand their Tom Clancy franchise, this time into a strategy series called EndWar.
The game's development will be overseen by creative director Michael de Plater, a veteran of the Total War strategy games, at Ubisoft's Shanghai studio. The gameplay will see players lead their own armies against "hundreds" of online opponents in the fictional battlegrounds of World War III.
EndWar is currently scheduled for release before the end of March 2008. The upcoming issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly will feature an exclusive report on the game.
