
Indie music fans in the Bay Area often trade show postings on the sf_indie list my friend Jasmine started about nine years ago, but it's hardly a comprehensive, centralized place for indie show listings. Bandega, launched today, lets Bay Area users -- even those from the East Bay (remember, "east bay" is pig-latin for "beast") -- subscribe to their favorite bands and be alerted by email when one of them announces touring plans for the area, so that they "never miss a show again."
After receiving the email alert and going to the site, you can choose to buy stuff associated with that band: a download (iTunes), CD (Amazon), or show ticket (TicketWeb). All purchases are through affiliate programs which help keep Bandega afloat. It sounds like a decent service so far, although I really wish they used Virtuous for tickets instead of TicketWeb [see update below].
