Though I fully approve of responding to any phone announcement with "another desperate attempt to copy the iPhone!" regardless of the critisized handset's actual resemblance to the iPhone, Samsung's Ultra Smart F700 not only looks like the iPhone, but, on paper, whips its hide, with HSDPA, a 5 megapixel camera and an integrated slider-keyboard for proper QWERTY action.

The US F700, to be shown off at next week's 3GSM show in Barcelona, also has the now-obligatory full touch-screen, Bluetooth, and interesting fripperies such as VibeTonz, wherein keys inexplicably vibrate in response to touch, and a drag and drop user-interface for navigation that will doubtless have to be used to be understood.

I'm just going to say it out loud: I want this more than I want the Apple. Look for it to cost something nasty, like $1,200, later this year. Another shot follows after the fold.
