This "is among the first of Google’s efforts to get its software built into the phone at the manufacturing stage," according to mobile-ent.com.

What this means is that Google is now universally applicable as a marketing prefix for any hypothetical product or service. Look for newswriters to go gaga over the "Yahoo!phone" or the "Microsoftphone" based on similar functionality that uses their own services, as soon as they're told to by a press release.
