(((It's interesting that robot development is turning out to be so culturally determined and so remote from technical breakthroughs like "positronic brains." Basically, robotics is an obscure form of show business, like the puppet theater. And the people most consistently entertained by it are the Japanese.)))

With only about two weeks more to go here in Japan, Brad and I are in accelerated shopping, eating, pura cura-ing mode. It also means our writing and photo taking are speeding up, so there are a lot of new pictures, web columns and the like. Brad's latest is on Japan's devotion to creating a bipedal, humanoid robot:
