A single person vehicle could go from the Atlantic to the Pacific on a gallon of gas. Students from the University of British Columbia won the Society of Automotive Engineers' Supermileage Contest by achieving a whopping 3,145 miles per gallon.
The vehicle uses an ICE only, and it is being tweaked to attempt to reach 4,000 mpg.
Wow, that's along time between pit stops.
