Shamboling with Brian Michael Roff

Boston songwriter Brian Michael Roff has quietly released a string of albums, each one full of a dusty sincerity and modestly beautiful. While sometimes his is a Ryan Adams twang, other times it's a plainer smiling sound, like an apple pulled from a brown paper bag. His records are always beautiful, hand made things, with songs lovingly assembled. And there's tons of mp3 samples to be had at his site. Particularly good is the accelerating ache on "Automatic Action", but you also shouldn't miss the couple of free tracks from Roff's upcoming split with Basque singer-songwriter Joseba Irazoki.
