*On the face of it, this incident has nothing to do with the "Indian Centipede" sex-and-bugging scandal. Except, when one comes to think of it, Paris Hilton managed to reach international celebrity through having her sex life leaked on the Internet and in illicit videos.
*Now a South Indian film director throws a blazing straw in the wind by saying he'd like Paris Hilton to play Mother Teresa in a biopic. Of course he has no intention whatsoever of actually hiring Paris Hilton, but he's able to get a mushroom-cloud of explosive publicity merely by *alluding* to a celebrity in a videotaped sex scandal. You can't beat this for low-budget advertising.
*Meanwhile, "Tammy," a hapless co-ed in Singapore whose cellphone was stolen and was full of her erotic MMS frolics, continues to be the top search-hit on Technorati for what must be an entire week now. There is an almighty ocean of Chinese voyeurs pursuing this teenaged college girl. It's hard to say what this phenomenon means, except that it has repeatedly proved powerful enough to wreck governments.
