Indian Centipede: some background history

'Liaisons are not new to Indian politicians, a certain generation knew of Nehru and Edwina Mountbatten, M.O.Mathai made other wicked revelations in his unauthorised account of the Nehru years, and we probably had our first sex scandal when Surya magazine, published by Maneka Gandhi during the Emergency in support of Indira Gandhi, splashed pictures of Jagjivan Ram’s son with his girl. Jagjivan Ram had crossed over to the Janata side, and therefore, this was the revenge.

(((This explains why people consider the Gandhi clan itself to be sex-smear operatives.)))

'Why this short and incomplete tour of sex and the world political order? Because we now have a full-blown sex scandal, with the abrupt resignation of the BJP organising secretary, Sanjay Joshi, after videos surfaced in the party’s national convention in Mumbai of his liaisons. There can be nothing wrong about this, since it was between consenting adults, but RSS leaders like Joshi, seconded to the BJP, are measured by a different yardstick. One of the pre-requisites of becoming a pracharak, the gateway to higher positions in the Sangha structure, is you must never marry, and remain celibate. Poor Sanjay Joshi.

'Some years ago, the private diaries of Uma Bharati were dirtily leaked to the regional press, where allegedly, she alluded with some fondness to K.N.Govindacharya. (((Uma Bharati, a holy woman and popular preacher since the age of 5, was one of the few prominent women in BJP circles.)))

'There was a flurry of denials from both sides, Bharati was a sanyasin and Govindacharya was bound by the regulations of a pracharak, but the knives were out for them. Bharati was the target of ambitious rivals, and Govindacharya had begun to be feared as a future BJP president. Both were sidelined, and before Govindacharya could entirely recover, he foolishly called A.B.Vajpayee a mukhota for the BJP, and got permanently banished. More recently, Uma Bharati was expelled from the party. So these dirty tricks have a long history in the BJP, made necessary and in turn magnified by the moral order imposed by the anachronistic RSS on the party in a changing, modern world.'

(((It's an entirely ungentlemanly act to publish a lady's diary, especially when she's a nun in love with a monk. That explains why people considered sex-smears to be an internal BJP struggle – they are bluenoses, so they've got a reputation for it. However, that doesn't explain why Amar Singh, who is a secular socialist with a playboy reputation, is also getting hammered. He blames the Gandhis. Just how many sex-leakers are there, running around loose with wiretaps? They already wreaked all kinds of effective havoc and never got revealed themselves, so who know how many have joined their club?)))
