Lucky 13

Where did we get the idea that Friday the 13th is unlucky? One possibility: Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday and Judas was the 13th guest at the Last Supper. Oh, and some say Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden on a Friday. In other traditions: Valhalla, home of the gods in an old religion, had 12 guests. The god of deceit turned up as the 13th guest. And witch covens have 12 members -- the 13th indicates Satan. In modern times: A British study reported more highway traffic accidents on a Friday the 13th than Friday the 12th, even though fewer people were on the roads. Just don't leave the garden for the road.
