Desert Prints

In the outback version of drinking champagne from a glass slipper, an Australian who has become the first person to walk solo across his country survived by drinking water from the footprints of camels. Jon Muir from Victoria walked from Port Augusta, South Australia, to the north Queensland settlement of Burketown, 1,550 miles in four months. He had a cart with essential items inside but still had to resort to drinking from the footprints in the Simpson Desert. It was his fourth attempt at the crossing. Most of Burketown's population of 250 greeted Mr. Muir on his arrival. He's already climbed Mount Everest and walked to the South Pole, The Australian reports.
