Shotgun Wedding

Despite having eight air rifle pellets lodged in her stomach, Turkish bride Aynur Tayoglu was married on Saturday near the Black Sea city of Zonguldak. During a boisterous pre-wedding party on Friday, Tayoglu was shot several times by an air rifle-wielding relative. She was taken to a hospital, but doctors postponed surgery because her fiance's father refused to postpone the wedding, saying several guests had traveled a long way to attend the ceremony. Tayoglu completed the wedding and danced with her new husband despite her wounds. Five other family members were injured at the party, where rifles and other guns were fired to celebrate the happy occasion.
