The telephone poll of 503 adults showed nearly 2-1 support for Gingrich's resignation and nearly unanimous support for a less partisan Congress. Louisiana's Bob Livingston and California's Christopher Cox are leading the race to succeed Gingrich. Livingston claims the support of 100 members of Congress, while Cox claims 90. Congress elects a new speaker on 18 November.
