Tech issues took off and the Nasdaq briefly crested the 2000-mark -- the highest ever, after a sixth consecutive record close Wednesday. By midday, the index was about a point-and-a-half shy of the milestone, up 3.93 at 1998.47. The Dow was up 64.37 at 9298.84.
