Harassment Ruling

In a ruling with sweeping implications for the workplace, the Supreme Court widened employers' liability for acts of sexual harassment committed by their workers. In a 7-2 ruling -- Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia dissented -- the court said employers can be held "vicariously liable" unless they can show they have "exercised reasonable care to prevent or correct promptly any sexually harassing behavior."
