Closer to the edge: Hoping to get a boost by harkening back to its 1970s' "headphone band" roots, art-rock group Yes is set to be the first to release a music CD in the surround sound format. While the general release of the new record Open Your Eyes (due 25 November) will be standard stereo, a special edition will make use of the home-theater sound format. In keeping with the return to more psychedelic days, the art of Roger Dean, known for his use of chunks of fantastic planets floating in space, will be featured on the cover. (11.Nov.97)
