Satellite Crash

The Meriwether Lewis earth sciences satellite the United States sent aloft last month is expected to come home prematurely in the next week or so. The US$71 million satellite went out of control four days after its 22 August launch; NASA now says the probe will plummet back to Earth sometime between 23 September and 30 September. To be launched next year: the satellite William Clark.
