One day after some 4,000 people marched across the Golden Gate Bridge in support of affirmative action, a similar number took to the Brooklyn Bridge to protest police brutality. Some of today's marchers on the other edge of the continent held toilet plungers - vivid reminders of the alleged sodomy attack on Haitian immigrant Abner Louima by NY police earlier this month.
